Gaming Board Director Resigns - 2005-01-10
The director of the state Gaming Control Board has resigned from the job. Brett Woods is to leave the $85,000-a-year position on Friday, according to deputy executive director Greg Saunders.
Saunders did not provide a reason for Woods' resignation from the position directing the state agency that oversees part of the gambling industry in New Mexico. The governor did not ask Woods to resign, said Billy Sparks, a spokesman for Gov. Bill Richardson.
Saunders said he will serve as interim director until a permanent replacement for Woods is selected.
