CASINOS' FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: 2004's jackpot: $1.18 billion - 2005-01-25
Detroit's three casinos took in more than $1.18 billion in 2004, which is a 5.2-percent increase. Both MGM Grand Detroit and MotorCity increased revenues while Greektown lost some ground.

The casinos paid a combined $111 million in state taxes and $140 million to the City of Detroit in taxes and fees in 2004. An annual report compiled by the Michigan Gaming Control Board shows this information.

Station may accelerate development of casinos - 2005-01-25
With several local future casino projects ready to fuel profit over the next several years, Station Casinos Inc. is considering expiditing up the development process for those casinos because of stronger than expected performance in recent months.

"We're evaluating the entire pipeline of development opportunities that we have," Station Casinos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frank Fertitta III said during a conference call to investors on Monday.
