New bill allows LGUs to reject casinos - 2005-01-31
Mauricio Domogan claims a House bill seeking the extension of the franchise of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) by 25 more years benefits Baguio. He claims it allows the city government to refuse the entry of a casino operation.
Domogan, Lakas' Cordillera coordinator, said he inserted a provision in House Bill 3409 that requires Pagcor to seek the permission of local communities before it can operate in their areas.
