Casinos face FEC fines over donation to N.J. Senate campaign - 2005-02-25
Mirage Resorts and Harrah's Entertainment are among several casinos facing federal fines over illegal fund raising for a US Senate campaign in New Jersey five years ago.

The Federal Election Commission announced today the fines as part of a settlement agreement with the 2000 campaign of Republican William Gormley.

Mirage Resorts, (a subsidiary of MGM Mirage), will pay a $40,000 fine to settle its portion of the case.

Gormley's campaign agreed to pay a $22,000 fine. Another $5,300 in penalties will be shared by Atlantic City Showboat, Marina Associates, Marina executive David Jonas and Harrah's Entertainment executive Herbert Wolfe.

Hard Rock International Releases 2004 Year-End Earnings Report - 2005-02-25
Hard Rock International today announced its earnings for 2004. This is part of a report issued by its parent company, The Rank Group Plc.

Hard Rock's total revenues for the year totalled $426 million against $382 million for 2003. This represents a growth of 11.5%. An operating profit showed a 35.3% increase with $51.0 million for 2004 against $37.7 million for the same period in 2003, prior to exceptional items.
