Casinos ignited boom in housing - 2005-03-18
The transformation that took place with the Mississippi Coast real estate industry into one of the busiest began in 1992 when the "show boat" glamour of the Isle of Capri and the Biloxi Belle came ashore in east Harrison County and Casino Magic barged into north Bay St. Louis.
Their cargo was full of wheels of chance games, and also brought in a surprising economic drawing card. Indeed, each boat meant that many employees would now need a place to live.
