Leadership casts doubt on casinos - 2005-03-04
The likelihood of getting Las Vegas-style casinos to the Bay State seems smaller than ever. This comes with the news that a legislative committee led by a strong gambling opponent will oversee all casino bills in the new session.

House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi on Wednesday told The Sun that the new Economic Development & Emerging Technologies Committee, which is led on the House side by Rep. Daniel Bosley, D-North Adams, will oversee all legislation that is related to casino gambling.

Casinos Stuck Under New Anti-Terrorism Laws - 2005-03-04
If you stop to think about it, legal gambling establishments such as casinos would be the last places you would expect to be helping terrorists. Casinos, race tracks and even bingo halls are more likely to be the target of rather than supporters of Islamic fundamentalists out to overthrow our government. State lotteries ARE the government.

Congress and the federal bureaucracy are now seeing terrorist threats under every bridge and inside every slot machine.
