Minnesota Governor's Casino Plan Faces Opposition - 2005-03-07
The Duluth-News Tribune reports that Gov. Tim Pawlenty's plan to build a new Twin Cities casino to help fill Minnesota coffers and three American Indian bands faces an losing battle in the Legislature.
On Friday, just minutes after Pawlenty and a trio of tribal leaders announced they had a deal, a bipartisan group of state senators strongly opposed having Minnesota use gambling revenue as a way to finance state government.
