Indian casino for Romulus could be years away - 2005-06-28
Leaders of four Michigan Indian tribes looking for government approval of an off-reservation casino in Romulus say the process is in the pre-development stage and could take years to complete.

"All we are announcing today is that four tribes, after more than one year of talks, have agreed to go forward with the casino project," John F. Petoskey, general counsel for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, said Monday during a news conference.

Tribes sued for casino revenues - 2005-06-28
The state launched a lawsuit in federal court against two northern Michigan Indian tribes, alleging they improperly withheld millions in casino revenues promised to the state.

Identified as defendants in the State of Michigan's suit are the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, which operates Victories Casino in Petoskey; and the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, which has a casino in Manistee.
