Bruno sticks to his three-casino proposal - 2005-06-28
If casinos are going to be okayed for Sullivan County, there will have to be some horse trading between the governor, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

Silver would like to have one casino; Bruno wants three as was originally approved by lawmakers in late 2001. As a result of the stalemate, legislators went home when the session adjourned last Friday without striking any casino deal.

Las Vegas Sands Interested in Constructing Casino Complex in Korea - 2005-06-28
One of the top American developer of casinos, the Las Vegas Sands Corp., owner of the prestigious Las Vegas-based Venetian hotel casino, recently announced that it had held discussions with South Jeolla Province authorities regarding the potential construction of a large casino complex in southwestern Korea.

Thanks to a law approved in 2003, foreign investors having funneled at least $500 million into Korean tourism in specific locales may operate casinos in South Korea.
